Vacations are not cheap! We spend thousands of dollars annually on flights, cruises, car rentals, hotels, and tours, so, understandably, we would want to save money on some aspect of our vacation to keep the costs down. Cheap travel insurance may be one way of doing just that.
Here at 91天堂原创, we offer competitively priced travel insurance that is affordable, given the comprehensive coverage our policies provide.
You鈥檝e worked hard and saved your dollars throughout the year for your annual vacation. It鈥檚 expensive, but worth it for that week away in the sun, skiing, or visiting some faraway destination.
But days before you go, a family member falls sick, and you must cancel. With travel insurance, this isn鈥檛 an issue; it鈥檚 upsetting to cancel when you鈥檝e been looking forward to this trip. However, because you paid for travel insurance, you鈥檙e covered; you’ll get your money back and can plan the trip again later.
However, if you didn鈥檛 buy the insurance, you have no protection should this happen. It鈥檚 unfortunate, but you have to choose between taking your trip anyway and risking not enjoying it or traveling back home early, or canceling the trip altogether and losing all the money you paid.
This is just one scenario where the coverage more than pays for itself.
The age-old adage, 鈥淵ou get what you pay for,鈥 applies to travel insurance. The less you pay for it, the less coverage you will receive, although this isn鈥檛 necessarily a bad thing.
If you have a limited budget, it is better to buy affordable travel insurance that covers at least some of your trip risks, rather than buying no coverage at all.
One way to look at cheap travel insurance is that you鈥檝e already spent thousands on your trip, so adding a few dollars more is just a small percentage of the overall cost. It can save you thousands if you need medical attention while away from home.
Establish a budget for the plan’s cost at the early stages of planning your vacation by obtaining several quotes and estimating its total cost.
Once you鈥檝e booked your travel plans and accommodation, it鈥檚 at this stage that you should buy your trip insurance, not the day before you鈥檙e due to leave! This way, you鈥檙e covered for the scenario above, but if you leave it until the last minute, you won鈥檛 be.
Once you have decided on a plan that meets your needs, you can usually adjust certain coverage components to get a cheaper travel insurance plan.
First, most plans will require you to select a maximum coverage amount. If you keep this to a minimum, your costs will be lower. Typically, we recommend purchasing at least $50,000 in benefits for shorter trips, more for longer trips, and larger groups.
You should also be able to select a higher deductible. The deductible is the amount you pay before your insurance kicks in. A higher deductible reduces the amount the insurance company will pay if you become sick or cancel your trip, thereby lowering the cost of coverage.
Cheap travel insurance can cover some basics, such as trip cancellation, or you can buy policies that cover your medical expenses.
Where possible, it鈥檚 best not to skimp on policy features, so you can determine precisely how much coverage you need by speaking with one of our customer support teams.
Please let us know where you鈥檙e going, how long you鈥檒l be away, and what you plan to do during your trip, and we will recommend the policy that best suits your needs.
